Xiaomi has become an international disgrace. The President of South Korea raised questions on the security of the Chinese company’s phones. South Korean President Lee Jae Myung raised questions on Xiaomi’s phone at the ongoing APEC conference in South Korea. Although this was done as a joke, it caused international disgrace to the Chinese company Xiaomi.

What is the matter?

Chinese President Xi Jinping, who came to attend APEC, gave a Xiaomi phone as a gift to the South Korean President. On seeing the phone, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung made fun of its security and asked whether the communication line is secure? However, on this Chinese President Xi Jinping said, ‘Check if there is a backdoor in it?’

What is backdoor?

Let us tell you that backdoor is a hidden way of breaking the security of a mobile device, which is used for everything from stealing data from the phone to controlling the system. There are many allegations on phones made in China that they have a backdoor, with the help of which the Chinese government keeps surveillance on the users of the phone. Devices can be continuously monitored through backdoors. This is a way to gain unauthorized access to a system, network or app by bypassing basic authentication.

Many times governments or agencies create such systems for legitimate reasons, including to track hackers or criminals. Many brands of phones have pre-installed apps or bloatware, which steal users’ data through backdoors. Many cyber experts have raised questions regarding this. Such questions have been raised on the phones of Chinese companies. For this reason, brands like Huawei and ZTE have been banned in America. Phones or other devices of these companies have been banned in America.
