Samsung
South Korean company Samsung, which is popular worldwide for displays, will now use the Chinese company’s display in its flagship smartphones, tablets and smart TVs. According to the report, Samsung has signed a deal with Chinese display manufacturing company Beijing Orient Electronics (BOE) for this. Now the Chinese company will supply small size displays for Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones. Not only this, the company will also make LCD panels for big smart TVs.
Samsung officials met
According to a report by South Korean outlet DealSite, BOE Chairman Chen Yenshun has recently met with several Samsung executives, including DX Division President TM Roh. According to information received from industry sources, the publication has claimed that Samsung has not only made a deal to display large LCD panels for TVs, but the company will also supply OLED screens for small-sized Galaxy phones.
Let us tell you that BOE has already supplied OLED panels for Samsung’s cheap Galaxy smartphones. However, this agreement ended last year itself. This deal ended last year due to a dispute between the Chinese company and Samsung. Samsung Electronics has decided to source OLED panels in limited quantities from Chinese company BOE. According to the report, BOE is once again looking to enter Samsung’s supply chain. Apart from entry level, the company is also preparing to supply display panels for flagship devices.
There has been controversy before
However, Samsung is not ready to display flagship smartphones at the moment. Apart from this, Chinese company BOE has supplied displays for many Chinese brands like Oppo, Huawei, Vivo etc. At the same time, BOE is also supplying displays for some iPhone models. Let us tell you that the Chinese company has earlier supplied about 10 million i.e. 1 crore LCD panels to Samsung, which the company has used in its TVs. Due to patent dispute, Samsung had stopped the supply of 1 million i.e. 10 lakh units.
