WhatsApp New Profile Photo Feature: Meta’s instant messaging service app WhatsApp is bringing a new feature to its iOS users to set a profile cover photo just like Facebook or LinkedIn – Profile Cover Photo. If you want to make your WhatsApp profile more attractive, you can do it just like Facebook or LinkedIn. WABetaInfo has spotted this option in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS (version 26.1.10.71), which is currently available on Apple’s TestFlight.
How will the profile cover photo work?
It’s quite simple, WhatsApp is adding a special space for the cover photo just above your profile photo. You can upload a photo from your gallery, take a new photo on the spot, or change your cover image whenever you want. Once set, your cover photo will appear when others view your profile and when you change your settings.
Where will this profile photo feature be?
The cover photo is expected to appear above the existing profile photo and may be similar to those seen on other social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn.
The feature is already available on WhatsApp Business
WhatsApp Business users already have this facility. Businesses are able to present their brand with cover images on this platform. It seems that WhatsApp has decided that ordinary users should also get some customization service like it is offering on its Facebook/Meta platform. Android beta users already got hints of this feature, so it seems WhatsApp wants everyone to be able to take advantage of it.
When will this feature be rolled out?
However, till the time of writing the news, no one knows exactly when it will be rolled out for everyone on iOS. This feature is still in beta, and WhatsApp usually releases updates sequentially, so you may have to wait a bit.
