Thane: A 55-year-old unidentified man died after allegedly slipping into the gap between 2 coaches of a suburban train at Thane railway station on Tuesday evening.The incident occurred around 6 pm on Platform 5. Officials said it was not immediately clear whether the man was attempting to board or alight from a Dadar–Kalyan local that just arrived at the platform. Railway and police personnel rushed to the spot after spotting him trapped beneath the wheels of the rake. The train was detained, and the man was pulled out.He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. “We are working to establish the identity of the deceased,” said Senior Inspector Archana Dusane of the Thane railway police.In a separate incident later in the night, an unidentified woman sustained serious injuries after an accident between Thane and Kalwa stations around 9 pm and was admitted to a local hospital.The 2 incidents led to disruption of suburban train services on the route, with commuters reporting delays of 30 to 40 minutes on Tuesday night.
