Mumbai: A Central Railway (CR) ticket examiner detected three passengers, including a woman, travelling on fake UTS season tickets on Friday in the 6.45 pm Parel-Kalyan AC local. Police lodged an FIR against them. The CR authorities have busted similar cases of fake UTS tickets recently. Travelling ticket inspector Prashant Kamble, along with other ticket-checking staff and on-duty RPF personnel, conducted a routine check and encountered the three passengers who produced UTS season tickets stored in the “My Files-Documents” folder of their mobile phones. When asked to display the tickets through the UTS app, they failed to open. All three tickets bore the same UTS number despite differing passenger details. Kamble confirmed the tickets’ invalidity by sending the passengers’ mobile numbers for verification, which showed no record of ticket issuance.A few days ago, a city-based banker was caught in AC EMU local train with a fake UTS local train ticket generated by coding via AI tools. Sources said it was an apk (Android phone application package) file.
