Apple is going to introduce its new iPhone 18 series in 2026. Along with this series, the company is also going to introduce the second generation of its slim phone. This new iPhone series of Apple can be offered at a higher price than the iPhone 17 series released last year. According to the report, this new iPhone 18 Pro series and iPhone Air 2 of Apple can be offered at up to 10% more expensive price.
How expensive will the iPhone be?
This year, apart from its iPhone 18 series, Apple can also introduce its first foldable phone iPhone Fold. Cupertino based company is going to provide A20 Bionic chipset in its new generation iPhone. This chipset is going to be manufactured by TSMC i.e. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which will be equipped with 2nm processing technology. According to the report from Taiwan, these chipsets with 2nm processing node will be expensive, due to which the overall costing of the iPhone will increase by 87%.
According to the report, if Apple does not reduce its profit margin, then the price of the new iPhone 18 Pro series may see an increase. However, there is little hope of an increase in the price of Apple’s standard iPhone 18. The company usually launches the standard model with the previous generation chipset. In such a situation, there is little hope of any increase in its costing.
However, Samsung charges 33% for its 2nm chipset compared to TSMC. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series to be launched this year can be offered at a lower price than the iPhone. iPhone 17 was launched by the company last year at a starting price of Rs 82,900. This latest iPhone series of Apple has been introduced with a base storage of 256GB. This year also the company will present all its models with the starting variant of 256GB. This year, the price of iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Air 2 may see an increase of 10 to 15%. Recently, many market research agencies including Counterpoint have expressed the possibility of increase in the price of phones to be launched this year.
