As India enters 2026, the alcoholic beverages industry is moving into a more mature phase of growth. CRISIL Ratings projects 8–10% revenue growth in FY26, taking the industry to ₹5,30,000 crore. However, the sector continues to operate within a fragmented, state-level regulatory framework. A more balanced and predictable policy environment would support innovation, employment, and sustained revenue growth, notes Diageo India’s Chief Commercial Officer Jagbir Singh Sidhu.
India is emerging as one of the most influential consumer markets of the decade. With a young population, a rapidly expanding middle and high-income population, and a projected GDP of US$7 trillion by 2030, the future of global consumer demand is increasingly being shaped here.
