Google New Feature: Keeping in mind the financial security of Android users in India, tech giant Google has implemented a useful feature that will save people during calls from scammers. When you know how this feature of Google works, you will also say that it is going to be very useful in protecting people from financial fraud. Its name is In-Call Scam Protection Feature, know how it works-
What is Google’s in-call scam protection feature?
Under this new feature, as soon as an Android user opens any banking or financial app while talking to an unknown phone number, a warning immediately appears on the screen. Suppose someone calls you from a stranger number and pretends to be an employee of a bank or any financial institution associated with you and asks you to make a money transaction, then you can be alerted by seeing a warning before you open the payment app. However, currently this feature will work only on Android 11 and above versions.
Google also added additional safety layer
Along with this, a safety feature has also been added in it for the future like if the user wants to proceed on that app even after the warning, then it delays 30 seconds in opening that app in the phone. What this will mean is that the user will get a chance to think whether he is going to get trapped in any financial trap.
With which apps will this alert work in India?
This feature has been first launched as a pilot project in India. Google recently said in its blogpost that the company has worked with apps like Google Pay, Paytm and Navi to implement the in-call scam protection feature so that people can be protected from the increasing cyber and call frauds in the country. As soon as a user opens these apps while talking to an unknown number, the phone immediately shows a warning so that the user can get alert and protect his money.
