What are the rules in India for private jets?

Talking about the law related to the ownership of private jets in India, individuals have to register an Indian corporate company and take a non-scheduled operator permit (NSOP) from a directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). For this, the form is to be filled by CA-28 and submission of custom clearance certificate, evidence of ownership, and lease agreement (if applied). Under the registration process, the notary copy of the lease agreement has to be submitted and it has to be ensured that the rules related to the Indian Avishan are being followed. The special thing is that for personal use, the ship ie private jet has an integrated GST at the rate of 28%, then commercial private jets only have 5% IGST.

Many companies have purchased private jets

According to industry executives, there were 40 NSOPs in the country in the year 2207, but as the economy expanded, many companies bought private aircraft. Due to this, the number of NSOP reached 139 in the year 2013, out of which about 80% were single aircraft operators. Some aircraft were returned due to rising costs and dull growth, which reduced the NSOP number to 110. There are 114 non-scheduled operators in the DGCA list as of 10 June 2024.

Lat aerospace was launched in June

Now, talking about LAT aerospace, Aviation Startup LAT Aerospace’s co-founder Surobhi Das started it by Deepinder Goyal in June last month. This startup has raised around $ 5.0 crore, out of which $ 2.0 crore is the investment of Deepinder Goyal. The company has also planned to appoint excited people about Aerospace Engineers, System Designers and Aviation. According to Das’s LinkedIn Post, while working on Jomato and riding in a flight, he and Goyal used to ask the same question again and again why the air travel outside the metro cities i.e. the regional flight is so expensive and why most of them are not in most places. Das wrote in his LinkedIn post last month that there are more than 450 airsterrips in the country at present but only 150 have commercial flights.
