AI chatbots
If you are using words like Please and Thanks while interacting with AI chatbots, then stop it. Experts have advised to use minimum word commands while using AI chatbot. Generally, while talking to someone, one should use polite words, which is very important for a formal conversation. At the same time, if you are doing this with chatbots then stop it immediately.
Etiquette is not necessary with AI
American AI expert Cliff Jurkiewicz said that there is no need to show courtesy while interacting with AI. AI is not a human being, but a tool. After this statement of the American expert, a new debate has started on social media. At the same time, a survey has also revealed that in western countries like America and Britain, 67% and 71% of users respectively use courtesy words like Please and Thanks while talking to AI chatbots.
However, New Zealand AI expert Andrew Lainson says that if we interact with AI online then there is a need to show courtesy. Just as we show politeness while talking to humans, we can show the same with AI so that they too can get used to it. Many other experts believe that it is not wrong to show courtesy to AI, but it can blur the line between human and machine.
electricity will be consumed
Microsoft designer Curtis Beavers says that polite words can make AI behave better and more respectfully, but it also depends on how the AI has been trained. The data centers that run AI consume a lot of power. Talking to AI politely will require long sentences, which will consume more power. In such a situation, it would be better to communicate with AI in minimum words so that electricity can be saved.
When experts were asked questions related to etiquette regarding AI like ChatGPT and Gemini AI, many experts admitted that etiquette does not matter to them because they do not have the possibilities. However, speaking politely can only affect the tone of humans.
