lava upcoming phone
Lava Dual-Display Design Phone: Desi brand Lava is once again introducing something new, and this time its design is instantly attracting attention. The company has confirmed that its next smartphone will have a secondary display at the back. At first glance, it seems that Lava has taken inspiration from the Xiaomi 17 Pro series! Lava has shared a teaser image of the X, giving us the first glimpse of the back panel of the upcoming phone. Although the company has not yet revealed the name or launch date, the design shows what Lava is planning to bring next.
Secondary display on the back
The teaser shows a small rectangular screen at the back, which is beautifully integrated into the camera module. It is housed with a dual-camera setup with two main lens rings. The embossed text on the rear panel confirms the 50MP AI camera, which suggests that photography will be its main attraction.
Design of Lava’s new phone
Design-wise, the phone features slightly rounded corners, a slightly raised camera island and a neat right side frame. This could mean that the power and volume buttons are located on the left side, although Lava is yet to confirm this. While the Xiaomi’s rear display is larger and brighter, the Lava’s design looks more practical, which makes sense since this phone is expected to fall in the mid-range segment.
The idea of secondary rear display is not new for Lava
However, it is worth noting that the idea of a secondary rear display is not new to Lava. The brand has already experimented with this design. Launched in late 2024, Lava Agni 3 had a 1.74-inch AMOLED rear screen. Similarly, the Lava Blaze Duo also had a small AMOLED display on the back. In those phones, the secondary display was used to take selfies with the rear cameras, control music playback, view basic notifications, and ban alarms and timers. So even though the inspiration may have come from Xiaomi’s latest flagship, Lava already has experience in bringing this feature to daily use. But what new thing will be added to this upcoming phone is not yet known.
