Bottle gourd jam not only tastes delicious, it is also a treasure of health. Bottle gourd murabba is liked by everyone from children to old people. Easy recipe to make Lauki Murabba – How to Make Lauki Murabba recipe in Hindi

material

Bottle gourd – 1 kg

Sugar – 750 grams to 1 kg (as per taste)

Lime – 1 tsp

Water – about 2 liters

Cardamom powder – ½ tsp

Saffron or green food color – a little

Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

Method of preparation

prepare gourd

Peel the gourd and remove the seed part from the middle. Cut it into small pieces or desired shape. Now dissolve lime in 1 liter water and add bottle gourd pieces in it. Keep covered for 2 hours. This will keep the gourd pieces crisp and hard.

boil gourd

After 2 hours, wash the gourd 3-4 times with clean water so that the lime is completely removed. Now boil the bottle gourd in water for 5-7 minutes, until it appears slightly transparent. Drain the water and keep the bottle gourd in a sieve so that all the water gets drained out.

make syrup

Make a syrup by adding sugar and half cup of water in a pan. Now add bottle gourd pieces to it and cook on low flame.

Cook the bottle gourd for 20–25 minutes, until it looks shiny and translucent. Now add cardamom powder, saffron and lemon juice to it. Cook for a few more minutes and turn off the gas.

cool and store

Let the bottle gourd jam cool completely. Fill it in a clean, dry glass jar. It remains fresh for 2–3 months when kept in the refrigerator. Then enjoy it for months.
