Crores of mobile users in the country use mobile connections of different companies and on the basis of these, different companies keep track of the data of their mobile users. Every month, telecom regulator TRAI releases official data on the total number of subscribers based on mobile connections. For some time now, the reign of Reliance Jio has continued unabated in terms of adding new users and subscribers and this trend will continue in September 2025 also.

Reliance Jio tops in adding new customers in September 2025

Reliance Jio remained on top in adding new customers in September 2025. In the month of September, Jio added 2,12,662 wireline subscribers and 32.49 lakh mobile connections. This information was given in TRAI’s report released on Monday. Public sector company BSNL also maintained its lead over Bharti Airtel in terms of adding new mobile users in September. With the increase in fixed wireless broadband subscriber base, Reliance Jio’s total subscriber base crossed 50 crore for the first time. Its total subscriber base has been more than 50.64 crores.

BSNL maintains lead over Bharti Airtel

BSNL maintained its lead over Bharti Airtel in terms of mobile subscriber base. According to telecom regulator TRAI’s monthly subscribers report for September 2025, government company BSNL added 5.24 lakh customers, while Bharti Airtel added 4.37 lakh customers in September. The number of mobile customers of Vodafone Idea (Vi), government company MTNL and Reliance Communications continued to decline. Vi (Vodafone Idea) lost 7.44 lakh mobile customers. MTNL lost 56,928 customers and Reliance Communications RCom lost 13 customers.

The data received every month from telecom service provider companies tells how they have performed in terms of adding new customers that month. From the government telecom service providers to the private service provider companies of the country, they keep an eye on the data of their user base and work on the policies of their plans and services based on it.
