Jio has launched CNAP i.e. Caller Name Presentation feature in many telecom circles of the country. This feature will show the name of the caller of incoming calls on the users’ phone. In such a situation, users will be able to identify calls coming from an unknown number. In such a situation the risk of fraud will be reduced. Apart from Jio, the telecom regulator had also asked Airtel, BSNL and Vodafone-Idea to launch CNAP.

Live in many telecom circles

These telecom companies are currently testing this caller name presentation feature in different telecom circles or have made it completely live. According to the report, Reliance Jio has started CNAP service in West Bengal, Kerala, Bihar, UP East, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. At the same time, Airtel has also started CNAP service in West Bengal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking about Vodafone-Idea and BSNL, Vi 5G has made this service live in Maharashtra. However, it has also been partially made live in Tamil Nadu. BSNL has currently launched CNAP service in West Bengal, which has been started on a trial basis.

What is CNAP?

As the name suggests, CNAP means Caller Name Presentation, in which the caller’s name will be visible in incoming calls on the phone. However, it is completely different from TrueCaller or other caller ID apps. In this, the user will see the same name of the caller as per the ID from which the SIM card has been purchased.
