From Bihar to Uttar Pradesh, the festival of Chhath is celebrated with great enthusiasm. While pumpkin rice is prepared on the first day of Chhath i.e. Nahay-Khay, prasad of jaggery kheer is made on the second day of Chhath i.e. Kharna. Today we will tell you about a very easy way to make this sweet dish. To make jaggery kheer, you will need one cup rice, one liter full cream milk, one cup jaggery, half teaspoon cardamom powder, 1-2 teaspoons ghee, 2 teaspoons finely chopped dry fruits and half cup water.
First step- Wash the rice and soak it in water for about half an hour and then separate the water and rice.
Second step- Now you have to boil the milk on low flame in a heavy bottomed pan. Mix rice in boiled milk.
Third step- Let the rice cook on low flame. Keep in mind that you have to keep stirring this mixture in between.
Fourth step- Now you have to take out jaggery and water in another vessel and then heat it until the jaggery dissolves well in water.
Fifth step- When the kheer cooked in the pan becomes thick and the rice is cooked, then mix cardamom powder along with finely chopped dry fruits in this kheer.
Sixth step- Let the kheer cool slightly and then mix the jaggery solution in it. Your jaggery kheer is ready to serve.
