Mappls, an app that competes with Google Maps, has been launched. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has shared a video of this navigation app on social media platforms, in which many of its features have been shown. This navigation app has been developed by indigenous company MapmyIndia. In Mappls you will get all the features which are available in Google Maps. Apart from this, users can also post about road conditions, petrol pumps available on routes, dhabas and junction points etc.
What is Swadeshi Mappls?
The Union Minister has shared a video of this app from his X handle and asked people to try it once. You can download Mappls from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. At the same time, you can also access this navigation platform through the website.
Ashwini Vaishnav has shared a video of 69 seconds, in which information about its features has been shared. It is shown in the video that wherever there is an underpass and overbridge in this map, a 3D junction view is created, so that the users can easily navigate. Users generally face difficulty in choosing the right lane on overbridges and underpasses. This problem has been resolved in Mappls.
Apart from this, if there is a multi storey building or shopping complex, information about which shop is there on which floor is available in Mappls. The Union Minister told in the video that people should try this indigenous map once. The Union Minister said that Mappls will be pre-installed in Indian car manufacturing companies, which users can use for navigation.
Will be used in railways also
The Union Railway Minister has also shared information that this map will also be used in Railways. For this, soon an MoU will be signed between Indian Railways and MapmyIndia, after which its GIS technology can also be used in Railways.
Talking about the features of Mappls, apart from navigation, it will also provide the facility of location pin and posting. Additionally, there will be an option to fix any problem and missing information in the map. Apart from this, options like Hybrid Map, Night Mode, Gray Mode, Sublime Grey, Dark Classic View are also provided in Mappls.
