Story related to Banke Bihari Temple- According to the story, about 400 years ago an old woman came to visit Banke Bihari temple. This woman used to sit in the temple and do bhajans. It is said that this old woman had no one in her life and she was worried about to whom she would hand over her wealth. Absorbed in this sorrow, this old lady kept looking at the statue of Banke Bihari ji for hours while singing bhajans and suddenly the thought came in her mind that she could make Bihari ji her son and transfer all her property in his name.
Such a miracle happened- According to the story, when the old woman stood up to leave the temple, a miracle happened and the idol of Bihari ji left its place and started following the woman. It is said that the devotion of the old woman had pleased Bihari ji. After much persuasion by the priests, the statue of Bihari ji was again installed at the same place. After this incident, a curtain started being put in front of the idol after every 2 minutes in Banke Bihari Temple of Vrindavan.
