The festival of light and happiness, Diwali, is approaching. Along with home decorations, a lot of sweets are also made during Diwali. Gujiya is also one of the dishes prepared during the festival of Diwali. Mawa Gujiya is considered to be the most traditional dish. Without this the festival of Diwali is considered incomplete. So, if you also want to share happiness by feeding each other Gujiya this Diwali, then today we will tell you the method of making Mawa Gujiya, which you can easily make at home.

Ingredients of Mawa Gujiya

Two cups of flour, one cup of khoya, two cups of sugar, one cup of ghee, one teaspoon of cardamom powder, one teaspoon of almonds.

How to make Mawa Gujiya

  • To make Mawa Gujiya, first add 1/4 cup ghee and water to the flour and knead it well. Then leave it like this for about half an hour.

  • Now put the mawa in a vessel and fry it on low flame. When the color of mawa turns light brown, turn off the gas and keep it to cool.

  • When the mawa cools down completely, add almonds, cardamom powder and a cup of sugar to it.

  • Now make balls of the flour and roll them into rounds. After this, fill the prepared mawa filling in it.

  • Now apply light water on the edges of the rolled dough and lift it from one side, join it on the other side and close it from all sides.

  • Now shape the edges of the gujiya with the help of the gujiya making container. Prepare all the Gujiyas in this manner.

  • After that add ghee in the pan and heat it on low flame. After this add Gujiya in it and cook. Cook it until its color becomes golden brown.

How to make syrup?

For the syrup, put sugar and water in a vessel and keep it on low flame on the gas and keep stirring it with the help of a big spoon till the sugar dissolves. When the sugar dissolves, increase the flame to high and boil the syrup. When the syrup is ready, add fried mawa gujiya to it. Your hot Mawa Gujiya is ready
