There is a ‘Great Tribulation’ going on in Meta these days. There has been a rift between company co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and Meta-AI chief Alexander Wang. Last year itself, Mark Zuckerberg appointed 28-year-old Wang as the Chief of Meta AI and invested about $ 14 billion i.e. Rs 1.26 lakh crore in Wang’s start-up Scale AI.
What is the reason for stress?
Mark Zuckerberg played a big gamble last year by appointing Alexander Wang as AI Chief. According to reports, Meta AI Chief Alexander Wang is not happy with Mark Zuckerberg’s working methods at this time. He says that this method is suffocating his work i.e. he is feeling suffocated. Actually, Wang seems troubled by Mark Zuckerberg’s interference.
According to internal employees, Wang is currently quite junior to Mark Zuckerberg in terms of both experience and age. However, in a short time Wang has built a start-up like Scale AI, which is currently one of the largest data labeling companies in the world. This is why Mark Zuckerberg made Wang the head of his new Superintelligence Labs. Meta is currently competing with big companies like Google, OpenAI, Microsoft in the race of AI. Wang is not able to get operational freedom for this.
Changes in the structure of Meta
Mark Zuckerberg recently implemented Meta’s new reporting structure system. After this, the direct reporting line of many teams has been changed. Because of this, Wang is not getting operational freedom from Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg himself is micromanaging the meta-AI product. Many people say that this seems to be a clash of two different thoughts. This cannot be called ego clash. Mark Zuckerberg thinks of product first and fast shipping model. At the same time, Wang works entirely on the philosophy of focusing on research first and foundation model.

Recently many news have come out in which it has been said that some top talents have emerged from Meta AI. Many senior engineers and researchers are confused about their roles and priorities. Mark Zuckerberg has invested billions of dollars in his Metaverse project. In such a situation, the future of the company may be in danger due to conflict between the top management and the co-founder.
