Google’s new warning

Google has introduced a new warning for millions of mobile users around the world. The company has recently presented ‘Behind the Screens’ report, in which information about new types of scams has been shared. In this scam, especially with Android users, people are trapped and cheated of crores of rupees. This warning from Google is also for iPhone users, in which they have been asked to avoid replying to text messages. Besides, users have also been told three golden rules to avoid falling into the trap of cyber criminals.

new way of cheating

Google in its report has named this type of scam as “bait and wait”, which is the most effective method of scammers. Hackers send text messages to people and ask some questions and the conversation starts. After this people are scammed. Scammers usually ask people ‘Do you remember me?’ or ‘How are you?’ Ask questions like. For this they use unknown numbers.

The tech company said that this method of scamming is very slow and calculated, in which the chances of people getting trapped are very high. Scammers initiate conversations with people and then trap them through social engineering. Google has asked to give red flag to such text messages and advised users to exercise caution.

Scammers follow two steps in this new method. In the first step, they talk to people and trap them. As people continue to interact with them, the second step begins. In this, hackers attack people and cheat them. By continuing the conversation, people start trusting scammers. As soon as they feel that trust has started building, they make their new move. Google has described this type of fraud as very effective. To avoid this, the tech company has asked to follow three golden rules.

These are the three golden rules

Google said that to avoid such scams, people should slow down their conversations. It is advised to delay answering the questions asked by the scammers. Besides, it has also been asked to monitor their replies.

At the same time, the scammer has been asked to double check what was said during the conversation so that it can be checked whether the question asked makes any sense or not. In such a situation, you will be able to avoid getting entangled in the talks of scammers.

Apart from this, Google stated the third and most important golden rule and said that to avoid any such fraud, no personal information should be shared. Any personal information or payment demand asked by the scammer should be completely ignored. No reputable person can demand payment from you. Also, no agency asks for your personal information. In such a situation, you should be cautious of any such demand.
