Google is rolling out a new feature for millions of Gmail users around the world. Users will now be able to change their @gmail.com address. Google has been working on this feature for a long time so that users do not face any problem in changing their email address. If you want a personalized e-mail address instead of your existing e-mail address, you can change it. However, Google has set some conditions for this.
Username of Google account will change
According to the report of 9to5google, if a user creates a Google account with a third party email address, then they will be able to change their Gmail address. However, users who have an email address with @gmail.com will not be able to change their address. That means if your e-mail address has @gmail.com at the end then it cannot be changed.
There is currently no option to change the email address on Google’s support page. However, Google is gradually rolling out this feature. The post about changing Google’s email address has been spotted for the first time by a Google Pixel Hub group page on Telegram. Google said that the e-mail address linked with the Google account, i.e. the one through which you log in to the Google account, can be changed. You can replace your @gmail.com email address with @gmail.com email address. That means the username of the e-mail address can be changed.
Terms and Conditions for changing email address
- Google said that after changing the e-mail address, you will receive e-mails on both the new and old addresses.
- By changing the e-mail address, data saved on Google account such as photos, videos, e-mails will not be affected.
- Users will be able to change their old e-mail address only once in 12 months.
- The e-mail address of an account can be changed a maximum of 4 times.
- Address ending with @gmail.com can be changed maximum 3 times.
Many times the user will see his old e-mail address and no one else will be able to use it. That means even if you have changed the username of an e-mail address, only you will be able to use it.
