WhatsApp has made preparations to crack down on fake and scam messages. Soon, a special feature will be introduced, which will block fake messages coming on the phone in advance. This feature is currently in the testing phase for Meta’s instant messaging app. After the introduction of this feature, fake messages coming from unknown numbers on the phone will be stopped, which will save users from scams.
Preparation to stop promotional messages
According to the report, in this feature of WhatsApp, messages coming from unknown and business numbers to which users never reply will gradually stop or reduce. A limit will be set for the number of messages coming from such numbers. More messages than this limit will not come to the user’s number. With this step of WhatsApp, the number of promotional messages coming to the users’ numbers will be reduced and they will be able to avoid fraud.
This feature of WhatsApp is especially for those users who send messages in bulk. The company is soon going to roll out this feature in many countries including India. There are many important and unnecessary messages in the chat list of WhatsApp, due to which it is very difficult to find the important message among the promotional messages. Notifications are sent to users with business and promotional messages from unknown numbers. After the introduction of this feature, receiving such messages will reduce.
For this, WhatsApp is testing a feature called messaging capping i.e. message limit. This feature is for those users and companies who send messages to people outside their contact list. Whenever a message is sent to a person who has not responded to the message, he will be counted towards the monthly limit as per the feature. The fewer replies you get, the less the message will be received. In this way, promotional messages will be prevented from appearing on WhatsApp.
According to the report of TechCrunch, WhatsApp has not yet told what will be the limit of incoming messages on WhatsApp? The company is testing this feature with different limits. When professional messages are sent close to this limit, you will receive a notification. If users ignore this, they will be temporarily blocked from sending messages.
