Phone Battery: If your smartphone’s battery drains very quickly, then you should pay attention to what are the reasons due to which your phone’s battery is getting affected. Apart from this, you also have some solutions which you can try sitting at home, after which the phone’s battery can be saved from draining quickly. Here are some easy ways you can reduce battery consumption-

Ways to Fix Battery Drain

  • Reduce screen brightness as the screen consumes the most battery. Turn on auto-brightness or manually keep the brightness low.
  • Use dark mode where possible, it saves a lot of battery on AMOLED screens.
  • Keep the screen timeout low like 15 or 30 seconds so that the phone does not stay on for too long even when not in active mode.
  • Manage background apps and close the apps you don’t use frequently or put them to sleep/deep sleep mode.
  • Limit background data usage for apps that don’t require notifications.
  • Turn off or reduce the frequency of auto-sync, such as for email or Google Drive.
  • Turn off unnecessary features as they continuously drain the battery.
  • Turn off Wi-Fi Bluetooth GPS/location services when not needed.
  • Turn off vibration, especially haptics while typing. Frequent use of vibration instead of ringtone also increases battery consumption.
  • Keep systems and apps updated and
  • Older operating systems or apps may have bugs that use up battery. Keep your phone’s software and all apps updated.
  • Keep in mind the network settings as if the network signal is weak in your area, the phone spends more battery searching for the signal. In such a situation, if you are not using calls or internet for some time, then turn on airplane mode.
  • It is very important to pay attention to battery health like always charging the battery till 100% and avoiding discharging till 0%. Ideally, it is considered better to keep the battery between 20 percent and 80 percent.
  • The phone should be protected from overcharging i.e. it is most important not to leave it charging overnight.
  • Always use original or good quality charger.
  • If your phone is 2-3 years old and the battery health has dropped below 80 percent, you should consider getting the battery replaced.

As an important tip, you can go to the phone’s settings and check which apps or features are consuming the most battery in the Battery or Battery Usage section. This will help you get to the root of the problem.
