A user asked a strange question on X regarding the privacy of Zoho Group’s recently launched instant messaging app Arattai. In response to this, the company’s co-founder Sridhar Vembu told the user ‘Trust me Bro’ i.e. trust me. Arattai is being seen as an alternative to WhatsApp. This instant messaging app of the indigenous company has become popular since its launch. Millions of users are downloading this app every day.
User asked strange question
An X user named Ravi (Tamilravi) has asked Zoho co-founder a strange question regarding the privacy of Arattai on X. In his post, the user wrote, “Forget secret lovers. Can a husband and wife send intimate photos between each other on this app? Who are the people in Zoho who have access to these photos? I want a straight answer.”
This question asked by a user on social media became quite viral. On this, the company’s co-founder Sridhar Vembu replied, ‘I had said this clearly. Our entire SAS (Statistical Analysis System) business is based on trust. We do not access any customer’s data nor sell their content.
Sridhar Vembu further wrote, ‘End-to-end encryption is a technical feature which is coming. Trust is more valuable than that and we are earning it every day in the global market. We will continue to extend this trust to every user everywhere while reviewing our products.
Flood of reactions on social media
As soon as this post of Zoho co-founder went viral, many users gave their reaction on social media. Many users compared Arattai with WhatsApp and wrote, “Do you know that WhatsApp was also end-to-end encrypted?” At the same time, another user wrote that the end-to-end encryption feature was not present in WhatsApp till 2016. Arattai is new and improving. In such a situation, one should not criticize anyone who is doing something good.
There was a mixed reaction among social media users regarding the privacy of Arattai app. While many users have raised questions on the privacy of the app, others have defended it. Many users have called it an indigenous product and asked them to help in its development.
