The biggest problem in EV i.e. Electric Vehicle comes with charging. New technologies are emerging around the world regarding EV charging. The big tension of charging electric vehicles is about to end. France is building a 9000 kilometer highway, where electric vehicles will be charged while moving. For this, France has prepared a 1.5 kilometer wireless charging road. Electric vehicles get charged while moving on this road.
This 1.5 kilometer long wireless charging road has been prepared on the outskirts of Paris, the capital of France. While passing through this highway, electric vehicles like buses, trucks, cars, scooters etc. get charged in motion. According to the independent lab of Gustave Eiffel University, the battery can be charged at a speed of 200kW on this highway. Its capacity is equivalent to Tesla’s fastest V3 Supercharger.
How will electric vehicles be charged?
This 1.5 kilometer stretch self-charging EV highway has copper coils installed under the road, which can generate magnetic fields. Electric vehicles passing through this highway can use the electricity generated through the magnetic field from a separate receiver to charge the battery. This will work in the same way as if you install a power bank with wireless charging in the back of iPhone or phones of Samsung, Google etc. In this, magnetic field has been used for charging, due to which the vehicles will be charged even in rain, snowfall or bad weather.
Who will benefit?
This wireless charging feature installed on the highway will benefit those electric cars or buses etc. who want to make long trips. Generally, the range of electric vehicles is very less, due to which very few people use electric vehicles for long trips. They also take a long time to charge, due to which the journey can be quite long. Due to wireless charging highway, vehicles will be charged without stopping and can cover long distances.
This technology developed in France will remove the major problem of electric vehicles. On such highways, long distances can be covered through electric vehicles and there will be no need to stop for charging in between. This technology has been jointly developed by the French Transport Ministry and Electreon. The target is to build a 9000 km long wireless charging highway in France by 2035.
