Material
White sesame seeds – 2 cups
Jaggery (grated) – 1.5 cups
Peanuts (roasted and crushed) – 1/4 cup
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Method of preparation
step 1 – Add white sesame seeds in a pan and fry on low flame for 4-5 minutes. When the sesame seeds swell slightly and start crackling, take them out in a plate.
Stair 2 – If you are adding peanuts, then roast them, peel them and grind them coarsely.
Step 3 – Heat 1 teaspoon ghee in the same pan and add grated jaggery in it. Add 1-2 spoons of water so that the jaggery melts easily.
Step 4 – When the jaggery starts foaming, try dropping a drop of jaggery in a bowl of water. If instead of spreading, it gathers at one place and starts becoming hard, then understand that the syrup is ready.
Step 5 – Now slow down the gas and add roasted sesame seeds, crushed peanuts and cardamom powder and mix well. Then turn off the gas.
Step 6 – Let the mixture cool slightly. Then apply some ghee or water on the palms and make round laddus from the hot mixture.
