Maps: Users of Mappls, MapMyIndia’s indigenous digital mapping and navigation app, will be able to get information about metro, rail and bus routes within the app. MapMyIndia said that with this new feature, private and public transport experiences will be available on a single app. According to the announcement issued by the company on Tuesday, it is expanding its capabilities by including multimodal public transport routes. It is believed that with the addition of this feature, Mappls will further strengthen its position as a comprehensive and multimodal mobility platform.

After the addition of this new facility, travelers will now be able to see the routes, stations, stoppages and interchange options of public transportation, which will make it easier for them. The company said this will help commuters make more efficient and sustainable travel plans.

These multimodal public transport routes have been launched with select cities which include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Indore, Patna, Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Jaipur, Kochi and Bhopal.
Feature available on iOS and web version
According to the company, this feature is currently available on iOS and web version of Apples. There is a plan to roll out the multimodal public transport routes feature on Android soon, which will be completed in the coming time. Maples said its user base has already crossed 40 million users and the expanded public transport aims to improve everyday mobility for urban commuters.
Easily find and navigate step-by-step voice-guided directions to your door step destination with live traffic updates, ETA along your route using the Maples app. Also a feature of Maple is Maple ID, a digital address and location identification system. Through this, the company has aimed to reach the passengers easily to their destination.
