Cricketer Shubman Gill has joined the investors of Startup Superke. The startup has raised Rs 100 crore in the Series B Funding Round. Binny Bansal’s 3 State Ventures, Mithun Sancheti, Shubman Gill as well as current investors Bloom Ventures and GD Ventures participated in this round. Shubman Gill is the captain of the current men’s Test team. Superke is a value first retail chain. Its focus is on small cities of India.

Superke currently operates 130 stores in more than 80 small cities of Andhra Pradesh. All these stores are franchise based. The funds achieved in the Series B funding round will be used to increase superkeyan’s organizational capacity as well as to hire good talented people in marketing, store operations, category and growth functions, and speed up expansion in new cities and categories.

Startup started in 2020

Superke was started by Anil Thaontapu and Neeraj Menta in the year 2020. Anil Codim, Hike and PhonePe have led to product and growth. Neeraj has been a co-founder of Hungerbox and has also made products in Flipkart and Jeta (Directors). The company has recently expanded e-commerce to e-commerce by moving beyond groceries.

Superke has developed indigenous POS machines with an in-house retail operating system, a consumer app and a partner app for daily operations at the store level. Superke claims that it is the only offline retailer in the country that has complete knowledge of the customer’s behavior and can collect detailed data on every purchase. With this, the company is capable of offering offers made for each of its customers for them and incentive to franchise on the basis of selling outkam.
