This service provides users with information related to the security of their accounts.
The service was launched in 2023
Google launched this service just three years ago in 2023. This service will be completely stopped from February 2026. Google is redirecting users to other security and privacy services instead. Besides, users have also been asked to delete the information related to their profile. Through Google Dark Web Report Service, users can find out if their e-mail address is in the dark web. This service provides users with dark web reports of their e-mail addresses. Due to closure of this service, crores of users may face difficulty in getting information about data breach.
The tech company has blog post Told through that the scanning of dark web breach will be stopped from January 15, 2026 and after a month i.e. from February 16, 2026, users will not get dark web reports. Google has instructed users to delete dark web profiles. After deleting the profile, users will not be able to access Google’s Dark Web Report service.
How to delete profile
- Users can delete their dark web profiles from PC, Android phone or iPhone. Users will have to go to their Google profile and go to the Dark Web Report section.
- Here you have to go to the Info section and click or tap on Edit Monitoring Profile.
- After this, delete your profile by clicking or tapping on the Delete Monitoring Profile button.
Use new security features
In this way, users can delete their dark web reported profiles from Google’s system. Google has instructed users to use existing privacy and security tools such as security check-up, creating a passkey, and using Google Password Manager. Through these tools, users can also submit a request to delete their personal information like address, phone number etc. in Google Search.
