It is very important to store jaggery properly otherwise its shelf life can be badly affected. If jaggery is stored incorrectly, moisture or wetness may occur in the jaggery which can also spoil the taste of the jaggery.

Something to note- Air tight containers should always be used to store jaggery. You can use glass or steel jar. Do not use wet hands in jaggery, take out jaggery from the jaggery box only after drying your hands thoroughly. Jaggery should not be kept in the refrigerator but in a cool and dry place.
