Here we are going to tell you about some easy hacks with the help of which you can wash woolen clothes easily. Let us know how to wash woolen clothes in the washing machine.
Easy way to wash blankets, quilts and woolen clothes in washing machine
- Be sure to read the care labels (washing instructions) on blankets, quilts and woolen clothes before washing. Some clothing may only require hand washing or dry cleaning.
- Make sure your washing machine’s capacity is large enough for the weight of the blanket or quilt. Do not overload the machine. If the quilt or blanket is very heavy, then wash it by dividing it into two parts.
- Remove any stubborn stains by pre-treating them with a mild detergent or stain remover before washing.
- Wash small wool items (like socks or gloves) in a mesh cloth bag to prevent them from getting tangled in the machine.
washing method
- Always wash clothes on ‘Gentle’, ‘Delicates’, or ‘Woolen Cloth’ mode. This mode washes clothes gently, preventing the fibers from getting damaged. Use only cold or lukewarm water to wash woolen clothes. Hot water can cause woolen clothes to shrink or lose their shape.
- Use liquid detergent instead of powder detergent. It is best to use a mild liquid detergent or shampoo specifically designed for woolen clothing. It keeps the clothes fibers soft.
- Place the blanket/quilt inside the machine in such a way that it is not gathered at one place, but is spread evenly around the drum. This will improve washing and the machine will remain balanced.
drying method
- Once washing is complete, dry blankets, quilts and woolen clothes in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
- Avoid hanging woolen clothes on hangers, as this can cause them to stretch and lose their shape. Spread them out on a flat surface and dry them.
- If you are drying a quilt or blanket, keep turning it every now and then so that it dries thoroughly from all sides.
- Do not use the dryer if it is not necessary. Even if you do, use the lowest heat setting.
