Instagram Reels and Edit
Meta New Features: Keeping in mind the needs of Indian users, Meta has introduced two new features in the Instagram Reels and Edits app, which will especially benefit the reels creators. Meta has expanded Reels’ AI translation capabilities to five more Indian languages. This update expands AI translation in Reels to five additional Indian languages – Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. Along with this, the company is also adding new Indian font options to its video-editing app Edits. In this way, these features are going to be very useful especially for the regional users of India and in this way the scope of Instagram will be able to reach even small areas of the country and Instagram Reels and Edits will be able to have a wider reach.
Benefits of bringing AI translation to five additional Indian languages
This change comes on the heels of Meta introducing AI-powered dubbing for Reels in Hindi and Portuguese, building on the original English and Spanish support launched in August. Its most important thing is that now creators will be able to easily convert their content into many Indian languages apart from Hindi. With the help of AI, the voice translation will be with the same feel and tone so that the original voice feel of the creators will remain the same.
Creators can transform their audio using Meta AI in such a way that it sounds smooth and natural in the chosen language. Along with this, its original sound and tone will also remain intact. The tool also includes an optional lip-syncing feature that uses AI to match the translated audio to the creator’s mouth movements. This allows the content to be matched with the audio of the new language. This tool or features can prove to be very good for those creators who want to take their content pan-India and increase the reach of their reels.
Indian fonts in Edits app
Meta Edits is also introducing Indian font styles in the app, allowing creators to format text and captions using Devanagari and Bengali-Assamese fonts. This includes languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali and Assamese. These new fonts will come with the upcoming update of the Edits app on Android.
How to use the new font-
- In the editing timeline, tap ‘Text’ in the tool tray below.
- Select the ‘Aa’ icon to view all available fonts.
- If the device is already set to Devanagari or Bengali-Assamese fonts, these fonts will appear by default. Otherwise, users can drag down the ‘All Fonts’ tab to filter fonts according to language and you will see options to select the font of your choice.
