By taking good care of the basil plant in winter, the plant will remain green for years. For this, first of all the plant should get proper water and sunlight. If the Tulsi plant feels too cold then do not keep the pot under the open sky. Keep it in such a place where there is air and sunlight but that part is covered from above. You can keep the plant in the balcony of the room. Now do not water too much in winter. Due to this the plant starts rotting. If you water Tulsi plant daily then do not do so in winter or water it very less. Water the basil plant only when the soil becomes dry.
Tips to keep basil green
Add neem water- To keep the basil plant green, add neem water to the soil of the pot. Adding neem water improves the growth of basil plant. Due to this the leaves do not dry up and the basil plant will remain green even in winter. Do not add cow dung to the basil plant. This may damage the plant. Vermi compost is considered good for basil plant. Apply fertilizer only in limited quantity otherwise the plant may get burnt. If the basil plant is drying then check the soil of the pot. Light sandy soil is considered good for the basil plant. Keep harvesting the basil plant from time to time. This improves growth. Keep removing the stems from the plant. Do not keep the plant in strong sunlight. Do not keep the plant in the open during cold days.
