Teenagers using social media
Facebook, Instagram Ban For Teenagers: What if you are suddenly told that you have to delete all your social media accounts? In today’s digital age, you would not even think of doing this. However, there is one place where Facebook, Instagram and Threads users under 16 years of age have been asked by the government to delete their social media accounts and today Meta has also asked these teenagers to secure their data.
In which country TNAgers got advice to download data?
Millions of Teenagers in this country, i.e. teenage users below 16 years of age, will have to download their digital history and delete their accounts from Facebook, Instagram and Threads in two weeks (15 days). Technology giant Meta today began sending millions of teenage users in Australia warnings to download their digital ‘history’ and delete their accounts from Facebook, Instagram and Threads within two weeks. This step has been taken before the social media ban which is being implemented for the first time in the world, under which the social media accounts of children below 16 years of age will be closed. Now, under this decision, thousands of teenagers in Australia will have to save their digital history and delete their accounts as soon as possible.
This government’s order to ban all three platforms of Meta for teenagers
The Australian government announced two weeks ago that Meta’s three platforms Facebook, Instagram, Threads, as well as Snapchat, TikTok, X and YouTube will have to take steps to remove Australian account holders under the age of 16 from December 10. California-based Meta today sent an SMS and email warning to teenage account holders that suspected underage users will be blocked from accessing these platforms starting December 4.
what the meta said
“We are starting to notify affected teens today so they can protect their contacts and Memories,” Meta said in a statement. Meta also said that during this period, users under 16 years of age can update their contact information so that they can easily reactivate the account once they turn 16. The company estimates that there are about 3.5 lakh Australian users aged 13-15 on Instagram and 1.5 lakh on Facebook, while the total population of the country is 28 million. Meta also said that if a user aged 16 or older accidentally receives the notice, they can verify their age by providing a government identification document or a “video selfie.”
