Buying a smartphone is now going to be expensive. Brands like Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, OnePlus are going to launch their upcoming smartphones at expensive prices. At the same time, there may be an increase in the prices of phones that were launched earlier. Recently OnePlus has launched its flagship phone OnePlus 15 at a starting price of Rs 72,999. This phone is costlier by Rs 3,000 compared to the starting price of Rs 69,999 of OnePlus 13, which was launched at the beginning of the year. Due to high prices, smartphone sales will also be affected, due to which the tension of companies has increased.

Apart from OnePlus, Apple’s new iPhone 17 series launched this year has also been launched at an expensive price. iPhone 17 has been launched at a starting price of Rs 82,999, which is Rs 5,000 costlier than last year’s iPhone 16. However, the iPhone launched this year comes in 256GB initial storage variant. Apart from this, the upcoming phones iQOO 15 and Oppo Find X9 series can also be launched at a higher price. In such a situation, a question is arising in your mind that why are smartphone brands launching their upcoming phones at such an expensive price?

Why will smartphones be expensive?

At present, no official information has been shared by smartphone companies regarding this. However, according to industry experts, the demand for AI chips has increased these days, due to which chipset manufacturing companies are focusing on the production of AI chips. At the same time, due to demand for AI chips, the production of flash memory chips has been affected. In such a situation, its supply chain has been affected and the demand for flash memory chips is increasing.

Tech companies only use flash memory chips to train AI models. Due to high demand, the demand for memory chips is not being met, due to which suppliers can increase its price. Not only smartphones, all those electronics products including smart TV, which use flash memory chip can also become expensive.

Oppo and Vivo increased the price

The launch of the smartphone may also be delayed due to problems in the supply chain of memory chips. In such a situation, most of the upcoming smartphones can be launched up to Rs 3,000 more expensive than their existing models. For example, Oppo has made the Reno 14 and Reno 14 Pro launched this year costlier by Rs 2,000. At the same time, Vivo has also made its budget smartphones Vivo T4x and Vivo T4x Lite costlier by Rs 500. In such a situation, you can get smartphones of many other brands at an expensive price in the coming time.
