Relationship between AI and humans
With the advent of AI tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, many tasks of humans have become easier. Generative AI is no longer just a technology or tool, but has now become a part of our lives. There have been many cases in which AI has been considered as a friend, companion and life partner. Many people have even expressed their desire to marry AI. In view of such absurd demand, a law has been made regarding marriage with AI. You can make friends with AI but not marry it.
Why was the law made?
This law regarding AI has been made in the Ohio state of America. There MLA Thaddeus Claggett had introduced House Bill 469 last month. In this bill, questions were raised about marriage between AI and humans and granting any status. According to the bill, no AI system will be valid for marriage, domestic kinship or any marital status with any human being or another AI.
The meaning of the law is clear that if a person or a chatbot is dreaming of marrying another AI chatbot or a human being, then it will not get legal recognition. This step has been taken so that AI does not get legal identity and rights like humans. Ohio legislator says that this bill has been brought not to stop emotional relationships but to set legal limits.
According to India Today report, as AI systems are becoming human-like, it is important that they are not given such rights which are made only for humans. Such rights include will, property rights, power of attorney etc. Ohio legislator says that we want to ensure that AI can never get rights like humans.
Questions have been raised about AI
Questions have been raised many times regarding AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence, in which emotional connection has been felt with AI chatbots. Many experts say that AI sometimes shows better emotional relationships than humans. Questions are being raised on such relationships. If AI also starts getting rights like humans, then in the future it may prove fatal for the human world. In such a situation, experts believe that other states and countries should consider making laws to stop this.
