Annakoot Recipe Govardhan Puja
Diwali is a festival lasting 6 days, starting with Dhanteras and ending with Bhai Dooj. The next day from Dhanteras, Narak Chaturdashi is celebrated and then Diwali and Govardhan Puja and then Bhai Dooj. Lord Krishna and Giriraj Mountain are worshiped on the day of Govardhan Puja. The form of Giriraj Maharaj is made from cow dung and Annakoot is prepared and offered as offering. Annakoot contains a mixture of all grains, vegetables and pulses. Annakoot Recipe
First step- In the recipe of Annakoot, you have to add all the vegetables. Chop potatoes, onion, tomato, carrot, cabbage, capsicum, brinjal, ladyfinger, pumpkin, gourd, beans and all other vegetables finely.
Second step- Now put oil in a pan and add cumin and asafoetida. Add freshly ground garam masala in it. Now add all the finely chopped vegetables. Add crushed ginger garlic paste and bay leaves on top. Mix everything well. Mix both moong dal and rice in it and add half a bowl. Mix the vegetables, add 1-2 cups of water, close the cooker and cook for 2-3 whistles.
Third step- Now keep mashing all the vegetables and rice with the help of a ladle. If you want to prepare masala for this, then mix salt, 2-3 spoons of coriander powder, red chilli powder, black salt, mango powder, garam masala and turmeric. Make a paste of spices by adding some water.
Fourth step- Now open the cooker of cooked vegetables and add all these spices in it. Now while stirring the vegetables, cook the Annakoot on medium flame till the spices are cooked. The aroma of its vegetable will spread throughout the house. The taste of Annakoot vegetable is completely different. You can also add other grains like millet and wheat by mixing them a little.
Fifth step- Annakoot vegetable is ready, use it as Prasad in the worship of Lord Govardhan. Later eat it with roti, rice or puri. The easier it is to make Annakoot, the taste is equally special. You must try this recipe once at home.
