India’s telecom service has been included in the top 3 countries of the world. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has given this information. Recently BSNL has launched 4G service completely based on indigenous technology. In this way, India has joined those 5 countries which operate networks based entirely on indigenous 4G stack. Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Indian telecom service is among the top 3 countries in the world and we need to improve it even more.
Emphasis on quality of service
The Union Minister said that new norms of quality of service have been implemented from October 1, in which high quality telecom services will be provided to the users by the telecom companies. TRAI will regularly monitor network connectivity as the new norms are implemented.
Jyotiraditya Scindia said that it would not be an exaggeration to say that Indian telecom services are among the top 3 countries and our efforts are on to improve them further. Telecom regulator TRAI has implemented this new norm to improve connectivity at the circle level. The Union Minister also said that the operators have submitted the first report based on the new norms. This is being discussed so that the problems related to quality of service can be resolved.
Airtel fined
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has imposed a fine of Rs 2.14 lakh on telecom operator Airtel for violation of rules. The company has violated the rules related to subscribers in Karnataka Telecom Circle, due to which the Department of Telecommunications has imposed this fine on the telecom company. As per the license agreement rules, the company must conduct thorough due diligence before adding subscribers. Airtel has ignored this rule and added new subscribers to its network, due to which the company has been fined.
