1. Cleaning inside the machine (deep cleaning of drum and tub)
Use of vinegar and baking soda
Set the washing machine to run on hot water or high temperature. Pour about 2 cups of white vinegar into the drum. Run the machine after some time. Now add about half a cup of baking soda and let the machine run the full cycle. Vinegar and baking soda together help clean dirt, soap scum and bacteria.
Self-cleaning mode
If your fully automatic machine has the option of ‘tub clean’ or ‘self-cleaning’, then use this mode once in 10-15 days. You can also add some bleach powder or vinegar/baking soda to it.

Pour a quarter cup of liquid bleach into the detergent dispenser and run the machine on an empty cycle (without clothes) with warm water. It helps in removing stains and odor.

The rubber seal around the door of a front load machine often collects mold and dirt. Wipe it thoroughly with hydrogen peroxide, vinegar or any cleaner on a clean cloth.
4. Cleaning the outside of the machine
Wipe the exterior of the washing machine with a clean cloth and a mild citrus cleaner or vinegar water.
