AI is a big threat
Questions continue to arise regarding AI. Former CEO of Google has also issued a warning regarding AI. He has said about a major danger of AI that AI chatbots can be hacked. By hacking it, it can be used for wrongdoings, which is a big threat to the tech industry. Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt recently said in a conference that if the wrong AI chatbot falls into the wrong hands, it can have major consequences.
AI security breach
Eric led Google in its early stages. He was the CEO of Google in the early 2000s. He said in the conference that many such evidences have been found in which AI models can be taken over. Security can be breached by hacking them. Many things are taught to AI models during training. During this time, if hackers train the AI model to kill someone, then the AI model can tell the users such methods which can be a threat to the society.
At a tech conference held in London, Eric said that all big tech companies will have to take responsibility for how they are training their AI models. For any such reverse engineering, the responsibility of the company making the AI model is fixed. Hackers can reverse engineer an AI model and teach it wrong things.
Chatbots can be dangerous
Many advanced AI models being launched these days can do tasks like coding, reasoning and bug detection. They can do things like hacking and jailbreak attacks. Many experts have previously said that AI models can be a potential cybersecurity weapon. Generative AI systems can rewrite their own coding. They have the ability to learn and adopt new things. Not only this, the code containing virus in their codebase can be made to run, if it falls into the wrong hands or their safeguards are not proper then it can cause huge destruction.
A few years ago, Geoffrey Hinton, known as the Godfather of AI, had also warned people about the risks of AI chatbots. At present, AI chatbots have not become more intelligent than humans, but as they continue to receive training and become more intelligent than humans, they can become a big threat.
